In our latest livestream, our CEO Eric Pan and Community Manager Ray Huang took us to revisit the highlights that made 2024 a remarkable chapter in Seeed Studio’s story. In this blog, we will dive into the key milestones, innovative projects, and community-driven initiatives that shaped our year.
Technology: Advancing Innovation for All
This year, we expanded our technology portfolio with innovative products and resources, equipping makers, developers, and businesses with the tools to bring their ideas to life. To get a clear look, here is a lineup of key launches and resources that we want you to look back.
- AI Sensing
Focusing on making AI-powered sensing accessible to makers and developers, we’ve introduced the ReSpeaker Lite, featuring 2-Mic Array and Mic Array with XIAO ESP32S3, empowering voice assistant development. The powerful reComputer R1000 joined our product lineup, followed by the reComputer R11, further expanding AI capabilities. Additionally, the Raspberry Pi From Zero to Hero program and the Home Assistant Collection Page equipped users to master skill-building.
- AI Robotics
We advanced robotics through cutting-edge hardware and educational resources. Hardware such as the reCamera, reComputer J4012, reComputer Mini Jetson Orin, reServer Industrial J501 carrier board, and the NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano Super Developer Kit expanded our robotics and computer vision offerings. Moreover, the NVIDIA Jetson examples and NVIDIA Jetson for Beginners offered hands-on experience, made robotics approachable for all skill levels.
- Maker
Makers benefitted from our expanded range of versatile tools. The ever-popular XIAO family grew with the addition of the XIAO ESP32C6, RP2350, RA4M1, MG24, and MG24 Sense, providing users with even more diverse microcontroller options. We also introduced the Grove Vision AI v2 for enhanced vision AI projects, two new mmWave Sensor Kits enabling exciting new applications like gesture recognition and proximity sensing. Updates like RS485 Breakout Board for XIAO, XIAO Selector, 2-Channel AC Wi-Fi Relay, Relay Add-On for XIAO, XIAO Solder-Free (Pre-Soldered) catered to developers of all levels, ensuring ease and efficiency in prototyping. - Sensor Network
Seeed’s innovations in sensor networks emphasized connectivity and precision. We introduced the SenseCAP Watcher, the world’s first physical AI agent to revolutionize space management. The Wio Tracker 1110 Dev Kit for Meshtastic and Card Tracker T1000-E enable robust environmental monitoring and tracking solutions. Kits like the XIAO ESP32S3 & Wio-SX1262 and the world’s smallest 1-Channel LoRaWAN Gateway showcased advancements in communication technology for IoT ecosystems.
- Service
Seeed’s Co-Create Service facilitated impactful projects, scaling them into full-fledged products. Through our Fusion Co-Create program, we brought to market innovative products such as the OpenUC2 AI Microscope, XIAO PowerBread, Smart Citizen Kit 2.3, XIAO Logger HAT, reflected a strong commitment to sustainability and open-source solutions. Exploration: A Global Journey of Engagement
In 2024, Seeed Studio participated in a series of impactful events spanning innovation, technology, and community engagement. Highlights included major conferences such as GTC 2024, Embedded World 2024, UNU AI Conference, AI for Good Global Summit, The Things Conference 2024, Smart City Expo 2024 and Ultralytics YOLO Vision Event. We contributed to hackathons like Build2gether 2.0, TreeHacks2024, UIST 2024 SIC Challenge and the UIC TrainRail Hackathon, and showcased our hardware at global maker events like FAB24, and Maker Faire around the world. Recognition included a corporate award from the LoRa Alliance, while initiatives like the Seeed Vision Challenge and Monthly Campaign Co-Create Gadget fostered collaboration and creativity.
Throughout the year, we had hosted 26 livestreams covering AI, Local LLMs, TinyML, Home Assistant, Robotics, Gadgets, Raspberry Pi, Edge AI, Meshtastic, etc., sharing the latest product updates, project demos, and exclusive deals.
Our global Rangers program reached every continent, bringing technology to diverse audiences: 11 Rangers across 7 continents completed over 50 events, focusing on themes like AI, TinyML, and IoT. Contributions from 37 community contributors resulted in 82 impactful tasks, showcasing the power of collective innovation.
Application: Expanding New Frontiers
In 2024, Seeed Studio’s products were at the forefront of technological innovation, boldly exploring new applications and addressing real-world challenges:
- From the development of a Local Voice Chatbot, Local RAG to Custom Local LLM and Local AI Assistant, we demonstrated the power of localized, intelligent systems;
- SenseCAP LoRaWAN devices were deployed to monitor carbon sequestration in Liberia’s rainforest, and IoT hotspots addressed the Xochimilco water crisis while supporting Smart Coastal Management;
- Our solutions also enhanced urban environment and process management with AI-powered local digital signage in malls, smart retail management, AI-powered pharmaceutical production and fountain automation using weather monitoring;
- Moreover, we introduced the Hazard Response Mission Pack, a flexible AIoT system for hazard scenarios. Projects like Friend, OpenGlass, uPhone and SLAM Kit for Robotics encouraged developers and communities to push the boundaries of technology and innovation.

Shenzhen: The Beating Heart of AI Hardware Innovation
Shenzhen, the birthplace of Seeed Studio, continued to play a pivotal role in our journey. In January, we hosted our first Maker Camp in Shenzhen program, welcoming 10 participants from MIT and UC Berkeley for a month-long residency, focused on scaling research with mass manufacturing for affordability or unprecedented magnitudes. March saw significant factory upgrades in our Agile Manufacturing Center (AMC), enhancing production efficiency and quality. Our commitment to fostering innovation was further solidified in October with the launch of Si Fund to help solitary innovations take root and flourish. November witnessed a series of impactful events, including Maker Faire Shenzhen 2024, Hi Tour, and Cyberspace Co-creation Camp, connecting global creators with the vibrant Shenzhen maker ecosystem. As a global hub for technology and creativity, Shenzhen continues to be a driving force behind Seeed Studio’s growth and innovation.
