Ever wanted to control your smart home system (e.g., Home Assistant) using natural language? Or issue commands and get responses by just speaking to it? How about integrating it with an OpenAI personality or voice engine, activated by custom wake words? Look no further! Our new ReSpeaker Lite Series is here to make your dreams come true.
If you’re a long-term supporter of Seeed, you’re likely familiar with ReSpeaker, including ReSpeaker Core, ReSpeaker Mic-Array, ReSpeaker 2-Mic Pi Hat, and the 4-Mic Array for Raspberry Pi. Now, we proudly introduce the ReSpeaker Lite 2-Mic Array and ReSpeaker Lite Voice Assistant Kit, your go-to solutions for developing AIoT applications involving voice interaction and voice automation. The continuous development in this product series demonstrates our endeavors in high-quality open-source voice capture and recognition solutions.
Introducing ReSpeaker Lite
Powered by the XMOS XU316 AI Sound and Audio chipset, ReSpeaker Lite series excels in audio processing with its integrated dual microphone array, making it ideal for far-field speech recognition and voice control. Featuring advanced onboard Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) algorithms, ReSpeaker Lite series is capable of capturing voice even in a noisy environment. Here are some outstanding features of this product series.
- Dual Microphone Array for Far-Field Voice Capture: The two high-performance digital microphones capture and extract far-field speech and voice (up to 3 meters) even in noisy environments, canceling point noise using dual microphone input.
- Onboard Audio Processing Algorithms: Powered by the XMOS XU-316 AI sound and audio chip, ReSpeaker Lite includes onboard audio processing algorithms for Interference Cancellation (IC), Acoustic Echo Cancellation, Noise Suppression, Voice-to-Noise Ratio (VNR), and Automatic Gain Control (AGC), enabling high-quality voice capture.
- Compatible with Popular Voice Assistants: ReSpeaker Lite allows you to build your own natural language processor and connect it to Home Assistant via ESPHome, Amazon Alexa Voice Service, Google Assistant, or Cloud Speech-to-Text service, enabling you to ask questions and issue voice commands to your programs.
To accommodate different needs, we are releasing two products in ReSpeaker Lite series today.
ReSpeaker Lite 2-Mic Array is a high-performance dual microphone arrary. It supports I2S and USB connections and is compatible with most existing MCUs, SBCs and PCs. If you have products such as Seeed Studio XIAO ESP32S3 (Sense), Adafruit QT Py, and Raspberry Pi, you can simply connect this ReSpeaker Lite 2-Mic Array to them via either I2S or USB to build super cool projects equipped with AI audio functionalities.
And for those of you who prefer an integrated pack with the mic array, MCU and even a full toolkit to build a smart speaker, we read your minds! This ReSpeaker Lite Voice Assistant Kit is exactly for you, as it comes with a ReSpeaker Lite 2-Mic Array, and a powerful pre-soldered XIAO ESP32S3. It offers a solderless experience for creating smart voice assistants and home automation devices. The kit provides firmware integration with Home Assistant via ESPHome. Moreover, we also offer laser-cut acrylic enclosure and 5W Mono Enclosed Speaker for you to select as a full toolkit to build offline smart speakers.
