This is a special INVITATION for YOU! We are sincerely inviting you to join us in shaping the Seeed Studio XIAO Open Roadmap, bringing more and better XIAO products to the community in an open, efficient, and collaborative manner!
Since Day 1 at Seeed Studio, the ethos of open source has been at the heart of Seeed, embedded in our words and acts. Many Seeed open-source hardware products have been used by artists, developers, educators, students, and other creative individuals widely in creative projects as well as by startups, scale-ups, and large local/global corporates in mass production of their hardware products.
While we’ve tried our best to iterate products and develop new products by listening to your voices in the community and adopting emerging technologies to meet the increasing and diverse needs, we realized the best way to walk faster and further is through the open way, which is also one of the cores of Seeed culture. Hence, we are inviting you to join us to collaborate on the Seeed Studio XIAO Open Roadmap!
What is Seeed Studio XIAO?
ICYDK, Seeed Studio XIAO Series has been endorsed, trusted, and adopted by 500,000 developers worldwide! It is a collection of thumb-sized, powerful microcontroller units (MCUs) tailor-made for space-conscious projects requiring high performance and wireless connectivity. Embodying the essence of popular hardware platforms such as ESP32, RP2040, nRF52840, and SAMD21, the Arduino-compatible XIAO series is the perfect toolset for you to build AI and IoT hardware projects and embrace tiny machine learning (TinyML) on the Edge.
What is Seeed Studio XIAO Open Roadmap?
Instead of the typical way of deciding the roadmap for products by ourselves within the company, we are unveiling the Seeed Studio XIAO Open Roadmap, which is a “canvas” of XIAO products where the whole community designs and moves the strokes together, bringing great products to you and the wide community and industry! We are inviting everyone in the community to join us!
Through this Open Roadmap, it’s up to you to decide:
✅ Features & functionality of existing XIAO products, what to add, what to remove for the next iteration;
✅ New XIAO MCUs and accessories you want!
How to participate in Seeed Studio XIAO Open Roadmap?
There are many discussions available on Seeed Github.
Welcome to participate via one of the multiple methods below.
1. Vote for the ones that you like => More votes mean higher priority, and we will allocate development resources to make it available faster! You decide what we build next!
2. Join the existing discussions: share your ideas and add your comments.
3. Create a new discussion to share your thoughts/ expectations, just like making a wish.
4. Share the content you love and invite people to vote (remember #1 above? More votes = higher priority, this will help bring your wishes to reality faster).
5. If you’d like, welcome to contribute your expertise in the tasks of the “Help Needed” section. There are various rewards for different tasks.
6. Co-create with Seeed on new XIAO products/ accessories. Accelerate ideas to market, with rewards/ royalties based on sales.
