Seeed Studio is proud to announce that we are sponsoring the UIST 2024 Student Innovation Contest, themed “Makers of Future Interactive Devices“. Co-chaired by Professor Liang He at Purdue University and Professor Xing-dong Yang at Simon Fraser University, this year’s challenge is set to push the boundaries of prototyping intelligent and interactive systems for wearables, smart environments, and more. We are now calling for participants! Submit your proposals by July 26, 2024.
About UIST 2024 SIC Challenge
The ACM Symposium on User Interface Software and Technology (UIST) is the premier forum for innovations in human-computer interfaces. As part of the symposium, the UIST Student Innovation Contest (SIC) is an opportunity to shine and impress the world with your creative ideas.
Under this year’s theme “Gen-M: Makers of Future Interactive Devices”, the challenge is calling students and makers who desire to create the next generation of interactive devices with intelligent and programmable modules provided by Seeed Studio. Participants will demonstrate their work at the in-person UIST conference in Pittsburgh, which is set to take place on October 13-16, 2024, competing for the coveted Jury Award and the People’s Choice Award.
Empowering Innovation with the Gen-M Kit
As part of our sponsorship, we will provide participants with access to a variety of components including Grove Vision AI Module V2, OV5647-62 FOV Camera Module, XIAO ESP32C3, XIAO SAMD21, 24GHz mmWave Sensor for XIAO, 6×10 RGB MATRIX for XIAO, Expansion Board Base for XIAO with Grove OLED, and Grove Creator Kit – γ. These modules are curated for the generation of makers who define and invent future interactive devices.
In addition to providing hardware for all selected teams, Seeed Studio offers participants the opportunity to commercialize their creations through the Fusion Co-Create Program. This initiative supports teams in licensing their products, potentially transforming innovative ideas into impactful solutions that benefit communities worldwide.
