We’re happy to share the news that Seeed is sponsoring the AI for Good TinyML Challenges 2023, which is organized by the United Nations’ International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) and the tinyML Foundation.
AI for Good is a year-round digital platform of the ITU, where AI innovators and problem owners learn, discuss and connect to identify practical AI solutions to advance the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Urgent action is needed to achieve the SDGs by 2030, and the utilization of tiny Machine Learning (tinyML) has the capacity to accelerate and expand efforts aimed at advancing this purpose. tinyML is a cutting-edge field that brings the power of machine learning (ML) to the edge on microcontrollers and embedded devices.
The tinyML Challenges 2023 is now open for registration! The objective is to develop a Next-Gen tinyML Smart Weather Station that is cost-effective, low-power, reliable, accurate, easy to install and maintain, and free of mechanical moving parts. This weather station will be designed to measure various weather conditions, particularly rain and wind, using tinyML technology, and it can be easily deployed locally. Additionally, the tinyML Challenge seeks to explore Scalable and High-Performance tinyML solutions for crop disease detection and wildlife monitoring.
This year, Seeed is sponsoring three tinyML Challenge Problem Statements: tinyML-01 “Next-Gen tinyML Smart Weather Station”, tinyML-02 “Scalable and High-Performance TinyML Solutions for Plant Disease Detection”, and tinyML-03 “Scalable and High-Performance TinyML Solutions for Wildlife Monitoring”. We offer three hardware options for you to choose from:
- Option One: SenseCAP K1100 x 1pcs
- Option Two: XIAO + Grove Base for XIAO x 1pcs + Grove Sensors x 5pcs
- Option Three: Micro:Bit V2.2 x 1pcs + BitMaker_V2 – JST x 1pcs + Grove Sensors x 5pcs
