Hackaday Supercon is taking place on November 4-6th in Pasadena CA. And Seeed Studio will present at the conference by 3 amazing builders from our community: Debra Ansell (AKA GeekMomProjects), Shawn Hymel, and Christina Cyr in the format of talk and workshops!

Hey community,

A piece of exciting news to share that Hackaday Superconference 2022 (short for Supercon), the greatest gathering of hardware hackers, builders, engineers, and enthusiasts in the world, is taking place on November 4-6th in Pasadena CA. And Seeed will present at the conference by the following 3 amazing builders from our community.

Place: Supplyframe HQ 2nd Floor
Time: 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM | Saturday, November 5, 2022

Debra Ansell finds creative ways to incorporate tech into projects which usually reflect her motto, “LEDs improve everything.” Her primary interests are wearables and tech education. Her blog at geekmomprojects.com contains tutorials for makers of all skill levels.

Workshop participants will build an LED headband based on the Seeed Studio XIAO nrf52840 Sense microcontroller which contains an accelerometer and microphone. Using the CircuitPython LED Animation library framework, they will learn to create and adapt motion responsive animations.

Here at Seeed, we’re excited and happy to support Debra’s workshop with the XIAO boards and our Fusion PCB Prototyping services as we have been a big fan of her and her amazing XIAO-powered creation for so long! For her workshop, we fabricated 30 custom PCBs, which can make it easier and sturdier to solder the XIAO board to the LED strip and battery. And the PCBs have a slide switch to make it easy to turn the power on and off.

Place: LACM
Time: 10:30 AM | Sunday, November 6, 2022

Shawn Hymel is a machine learning DevRel engineer, instructor, and university program manager at Edge Impulse. He creates compelling technical videos, courses, and workshops around edge machine learning that inspire engineers of all skill levels.

Toasters usually rely on timers or bimetallic strips to control the toasting process. In this talk, Shawn explains how he decided to take this problem to the next level using Wio Terminal, Grove gas sensors and machine learning. More details about his project can be learnt here.

Place: Supplyframe HQ 2rd Floor

Time: 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM | Friday, November 4, 2022

Christina Cyr is CEO of dTOOR, a company which makes “Non-Rectangular Phones for Non-Rectangular People.” The company’s flagship product is the Cyrcle Phone. She also helps other people and companies make their own smartphone and IoT creations.

Join this workshop to assemble your very own 2G phone using rePhone Kit Create. If you want to take your creation a step further after the assembly, bring your laptop with a micro-USB cable and I’ll show you how to upload your own ringtones.

If you are going to the Supercon and want to have a closer look at our products and their applications, look for these 3 amazing minds at Hackaday Supercon in Pasadena. For Supercon, you can always expect hundreds of engineers and engineering enthusiasts gather for organized talks and workshops along with the extemporaneous challenges, conversations, and discoveries.
