Reviews from Community

2.1 Seeed’s new Grove beginner kit for Arduino: arguably the easiest way to get started

Grove is a system of connectors and components that make it very easy to create circuits. Just plug in the special Grove cables into the connector, and move on to work on the sketch, knowing that the wiring is solid and reliable. As a result, the Grove system is perfect for people new to the Arduino.”

2.2 Grove Beginner Kit for Arduino Review: The Best Arduino Starter Kit Yet by MakeUseOf

“The Grove Beginner Kit for Arduino is an innovative way to get started with Arduino programming. With a bundle of included sensors pre-wired, a low price of $20, and an easy-to-use Grove connector system, it grows with you as you learn.”

Grove Beginner Kit for Arduino Review by Tom’s Hardware

“The Seeed Grove Beginner Kit for Arduino aims to provide a frictionless learning environment for new Arduino users. As it connects via USB to a host computer it can be used with machines as powerful as your gaming PC or as low power as a Raspberry Pi.”

2.4 Seeed Studio’s Arduino Sensor Kit—What’s new? What’s different from Grove Beginner Kit? What about ESP32?

“The Arduino Sensor Kit is a well designed board for beginners that want to try out a lot of different sensor modules — without the need for wiring. An advantage is that you are free to choice whether you want to go on with the Grove ecosystem or stick with the Arduino ecosystem. Moreover, I have shown that it’s also possible to use the board together with an ESP32. This is helpful if someone wants to go on with wireless applications.”

3.1 Grove Beginner Kit for Arduino – Unboxing & Getting Started – #newproductsTuesday

“This kit stands out from the Grove Starter Kit for Arduino because of the addition of a Seeeduino Lotus board which has 12 Grove connectors onboard. This makes the whole connecting process much faster and convenient.”

3.2 DIY 4 Sensor Weather Station | Arduino project | Seeed Studio Grove Beginner Kit

”This time we make a very useful little weather station to monitor temperature, humidity, air pressure, and to get notified when it starts raining outside.

This Arduino-based project made mostly from their easy-to-use/connectable modules and parts from their Grove Beginner Kit for Arduino.”

3.3 Connecting an Arduino-Compatible board to MATLAB (Grove Beginner Kit Version)

“Here is an example of taking a modified Arduino Uno-style board, like the Seeed Studio Grove Beginner Kit.  We’re using the Arduino IDE v1.8 and MATLAB 2019, along with the Arduino support package from the Mathworks.  We use the Arduino IDE to verify that the hardware is working and to identify the software “port” that MATLAB needs to connect to the Arduino-compatible board.”

Codecraft

Codecraft is a graphical programming software suitable for kids ages 6-16, who are learning to program. Codecraft is based on Scratch 3.0 language and enables programming by simply “dragging and dropping” blocks. In addition to Scratch’s ability to program interactive games or animations, Codecraft also supports a variety of common hardware devices such as Arduino Uno, Grove Beginner Kit for Arduino, enabling hardware and software integration, which makes programming even more fun.

Awesome review and proejct articles from the Community

4.1 Grove Beginner Kit for Arduino Review by electromaker.io

“As its name suggests, the SeeedStudio Grove starter kit is a beginner-friendly device. The all-in-one kit comes with an array of pre-installed modules. Therefore, no soldering, external breadboard, or even wiring is required”

4.2 Grove Beginner Kit For Arduino 2020 – Getting Started with Arduino

“The best thing about this kit is, it contains almost all the sensors and modules pre-wired so that you don’t need to use any breadboard or connection wires or solder them to make it work. Simply connect the board to the computer and start coding!”

4.3 Review of the Grove Beginner Kit for Arduino from Seeed

“The hardware is excellent. I think the idea to make the sensors detachable (albeit permanently) is very clever and makes the kit much more exciting than if it was a true single circuit board. I can easily imagine making a box for the kit contents and using the different sensors poking out the sides of the box, or perhaps mounted properly inside. It’s great they they included the 10 Grove cables so that you don’t need to buy them to make full use of the kit. The kit can also be used with the 300+ Grove modules that are out there already, which is terrific. I’m not one (particularly) for hardware eco-systems, but Grove does make it very easy to get going using components without messing about with, for example, resistors.”

4.4 GROVE BEGINNER KIT

Seeedstudio’s Grove Beginner Kit environment is an « all-in-one » solution with a programming board compatible with an Arduino Uno and a set of sensors and displays already wired. The user only has to concentrate on the programming part while analyzing the links between the microcontroller and the 10 grove peripherals. It only takes a quarter of an hour to carry out the first programming.”

4.5 Product Review – Seeed Studio’s new STEAM Grove Beginner Kit For Arduino

“Basically if I were looking to teach basic electronics and how to interface sensor breakout boards with an arduino uno compatible micro-controller I would purchase several of these boards.  The examples provided work perfectly and unlike separate modules and development boards nothing can be easily lost or removed.  One of the biggest complaints from teachers and students with teaching electronics is that parts go missing and get lost or broken or tidying up after the class takes as long as teaching the class.  With this system both of those problems are solved. The price of the board at $19.90 or £15.38 is incredibly reasonable.  I don’t really have any negative comments to make about this product and that is incredibly unusual for me!”
