What are LoRaWAN Gateways?
LoRaWAN Gateways, or Long Range Wide Area Network Gateways serve as a central hub for your IoT devices. Much like a network router, LoRaWAN Gateways are equipped with LR concentrators to receive radio signals from LoRaWAN devices. These signals are processed by the gateway and finally sent to the cloud. If you want to manage an efficient wireless network for your IoT systems, LoRaWAN Gateways are an important component to consider!
WM1302 LoRaWAN Gateway Modules – Based on Semtech® SX1302
Our new WM1302 modules are the next-generation of mini-PCIe form-factor LoRaWAN gateway modules that have been carefully designed to unlock greater possibilities in long-range wireless transmission. Powered by the brand new Semtech® SX1302, the WM1302 series features improvements across the board in sensitivity, power consumption and thermal management over its predecessors that use older SX1301 and SX1308 chips!

The WM1302 series is designed for M2M (Machine to Machine) and IoT applications and can be widely applied in LPWAN gateway supported scenarios. For example, you can use WM1302 to develop smart metering, security sensor networks, agricultural monitoring, and more! With WM1302, you will be able to easily design and scale your long range IoT networks in a time and cost effective manner, without worries about performance or durability!
Leveraging their compact yet flexible Mini-PCIe form factor, the WM1302 series can also interface easily with many existing modules. The WM1302 LoRaWan Gateway Module series consists of four modules, with both SPI and USB versions on both US915 and EU868 frequency bands. With this, you can take advantage of a wide-range of LoRaWan frequency plan choices, including EU868, US915, AS923, AS920, AU915, KR920, and IN865.

WM1302 Pi Hat for Raspberry Pi
The WM1302 Pi Hat has been released, making it easier to develop powerful and efficient LoRaWAN gateways with the Raspberry Pi! It supports the WM1302 module’s mini-PCIe form-factor and can automatically configure the standard 52-pin golden fingers to the Raspberry Pi GPIO connector with a 40-pin compatible header.
With the WM1302 Pi HAT, you can easily add the functionality of the SX1302 on the Raspberry Pi to use LR and LoRaWAN protocols. Furthermore, the HAT features an integrated GPS module to enhance the timing and location accuracy of the WM1302 module.
