The Raspberry Pi Foundation just introduced their latest Raspberry Pi High-Quality Camera and two new mount lenses for the camera. The camera module is available at $50 and also offers a higher resolution at 12 megapixels, compared to the previous version with 8 megapixels. The sensitivity has been upgraded to around 50% greater area per pixel than Camera Module V2.
Also, the new Raspberry Pi High-Quality Camera is designed to work with interchangeable lenses in both C- and CS-mount form factors.
Raspberry Pi High-Quality Camera is built with Sony IMX477 sensor and the package will come with:
- An FPC cable
- A milled aluminum lens mount with integrated tripod mount
- Focus adjustment ring
- A C-mount to CS-mount adapter
The new High-Quality Camera enables more application compared to the Camera Module V2, especially for industrial and consumer fields such as when you want to build a security camera which requires the highest levels of visual fidelity.
The new Raspberry Pi High-Quality Camera is compatible with all models of Raspberry Pi computer released by The Raspberry Pi Foundation.

The Raspberry Pi Foundation also brings two new lenses:
This is a low-cost 6 mm lens compatible with the High-Quality Camera and is also suitable for basic photography such as macro photography because it can focus objects at very short distances.
The 16 mm lens provides a higher quality image than the 6 mm lens, equipped with a narrow-angle of view which is better for viewing distant objects.
