SeeedRecipe Monthly #8: Nov 2015
This month we have some new recipes of the unleashed Rephone, and MXCHIP’s EMW3165. A series of tutorials on Intel Galileo/Edison, and another on Seeeduino with LabVIEW are continuously contributed by our recipe users navin_b and mag.
Sharing your knowledge and experience with development platforms can help others learn much better. Thus we’re calling for the BeagleBone tutorials in this month’s events. There are also the Xmas contest and the RedBear Contest for you to have fun.
To help us learn more about your needs, we created a Maker Survey to collect your ideas and thoughts. If you would like to talk to us, please give us feedback.
RePhone – Traceable Dog Collar
Our engineer Chao has unleashed a first example of the kickstarter project RePhone Kit. It shows the capability of using the kit on wearable devices.
Introduction to LabVIEW and Arduino Interface
In this course, you will learn about how to use LabVIEW to acquire analog and digital datas from external devices and control them from LabVIEW. It uses Seeeduino Lotus with the Grove modules. Check more with the continuous series in mag’s user page.
The Internet of Candies!
This is the first EMW3165 simple IoT project as far as we see. A candy dispenser connected to the WiFi module with a web interface displaying how many candies have been dispensed. It uses Doit Team’s WiFiMCU firmware to do the trick.
Getting started with Intel Edison/Galileo
This is an ongoing tutorial which you can get familiar with the Python and C/C++ development on Intel Edison/Galileo platform. Check out Navin’s progress here.
Flashing EMW3165 Dev Board with wifiMCU firmware
Some more progress on the EMW3165 community. Although it is a bit quiet with the powerful module, but now the WiFiMCU firmware is leveraging the difficulty of getting started on it.
Seeed Recipe’s Maker Survey
We have been supported by a great user community, and we want to support the community as much as we can. Now we want to learn more from you on how you make projects, how you work with the modules and components, and what do you think of our service. We conducted a survey [here] to collect your opinions and suggestions. If you agree to take a more in-depth private interview with us, we will prepare a small gift in return.
