Staff Pick: Blend Micro – an Arduino Development Board with BLE by RedBearLab
Blend Micro “blend”s Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy (aka BLE or Bluetooth Smart) into a micro form factor Arduino board. It is designed for makers to develop low power Internet-Of-Things (IoT) projects quickly and easily.
The micro-controller unit (MCU) is Atmel ATmega32u4 and the BLE chip is Nordic nRF8001. Blend Micro runs as BLE peripheral role only, which can be connected to BLE central role devices like your iPhone.
It is a RedBearLab product under Arduino AtHeart program. Just download the Nordic Bluetooth Smart SDK for Arduino, test with Android App and iOS App, build your IoT project!
Prototyping Boards
IoT module M32W is Arduino Yun compatible, based on ATmega32u4, featuring the XBEE Socket and RFM12B footprint to implement different wireless protocol modules. The weird shape is compatible with Dragino, a low cost, open hardware Linux motherboard for micro-controllers.
It can be programmed and debugged by the Arduino IDE(ver 1.5.4 or later) via WiFi. It also has a breadboard area for easy prototyping.
USB To Uart is mainly designed to upload code or communicate with MCUs using your computer. It conforms to USB Specification Version 2.0, supports baud rate varies from 2400bps to 115200bps, comes with 3.3V and 5V compatible I/Os.
