New Product Post

Robots, robots, and more robots, the month of June has been a banner month for new make-your-own robot products.  This week we are taking a look at the Omnidirectional Sensor from Vstone, a company that specializes in the development and manufacture of robots and related products, and we’ll check out the new offerings from Makeblock, a company that prides itself on providing durable building blocks for constructing robots or other mechanisms.

If you’ve ever wanted to build your own robot from scratch, then you need the Omnidirectional Sensor.  This sensor allows your robot to have a wider angle of vision while simultaneously collecting directional information.  Or if you’re not quite ready to build your robot, in the meantime you can utilize the sensor’s panoramic lens for a surveillance system.  The lens creates 360° pictures, comes preassembled, and easily connects to a CCD camera.

The folks at Makeblock just keep coming up with new colors and new kits for their product line.  They have three new Structure Extension Kits in silver, blue, and gold.  The Structure Extension Kits contain great architectural pieces to beef up your construction, such as beams, brackets, plates, and connectors.  The new Makeblock Timing Belt Extension Kits are available in silver, blue, or gold too, and they come with timing belts, wheels, slices, and other goodies.  All of these kits can be used to enhance any Makeblock product, or you can use them to create your own masterpiece, such as a 3D printer or a laser cutter.

That’s all for now.  Until next time, keep on making.
