New Product Post

After enjoying a beautiful warm weekend, we’re back to work and excited to announce five fantastic new products that we’re sure you’ll want to get your hands on immediately.

Our first device is the newest addition to the Grove line, and it is our easiest controller yet, MilCandy.  It’s a great way to get your feet wet in physical computing without having to write code.  With just a click of the button, you can set up basic if-then statements by establishing a triggering pattern.  It’s perfect for Smart Home or environment detection applications.  Check out the demonstration video on the MilCandy page.  It’s a great way to see how it works, and it might inspire your own project.

Another Smart Home product that we carry is the Smart Outlet.  The Smart Outlet is a remote-controllable intermediary between your appliance (up to 10A) and your home’s electrical outlets.  It contains a Bee socket which allows you to connect to Bee modules, like the XBee, Wifi Bee, or Bluetooth Bee.  These modules allow you to turn on and off your appliance remotely from your mobile phone or the Internet.  The Smart Outlet can also serve as a collection point for power consumption data because of the built-in electricity sensor.  The options are limitless.

The FEZ Hydra Mainboard is our 100% open source .NET compatible microcontroller.  It support up to 14 Gadgeteer compatible sockets, and it has rich .NET Micro Framework open-source software and hardware.  With a 240 Mhz processor, 16 MB of SDRAM, and 4MB of flash RAM, it’s perfect for your most complex applications and ideas.

We were doing a little spring cleaning and found some GPS antennas in our warehouse.  They come with IPX connectors and have low power consumption.  We didn’t find a lot, so we decided to offer them at 40% off our retail prices.  You should jump on this opportunity fast because when they’re gone they’re gone.

Last but not least, we have our high quality Omni purpose multi-segment TN LCD which you will definitely want to integrate into your next project.  It’s a reliable, versatile LCD display with up to 128 segments and our latest offering in Shenzhen 2 U.  It’s a nice compact size with many options for display configuration.  If you need more information on how it all works, check out the datasheet, content diagram, and value diagram on the product page.

That’s all for now.  Until next time, keep on making.
