MakerBot Replicator is now available for pre-order in Seeed!
MakerBot Replicator™ – making things BIG in TWO different colors!
Last month, MakerBot Industries was excited to announce the launch of its latest product, The MakerBot Replicator™, which was first showed at CES in Las Vegas, NV on Tuesday, January 10th. It brought a stream of fresh air to the people at the world’s largest consumer electronics show. And now, it comes here, available in Seeed store for pre-order today! The first 10 pre-orders will get a free ABS filament!
MakerBot is an ultimate personal 3D printer. It is one of the driving forces in bringing 3D printing to the mainstream, and the Replicator takes even another big step in that direction. So, what’s new of the MakerBot Replicator™?
1. Enable you to make things BIG
The MakerBot Replicator, with a bigger printing footprint, giving you the superpower to print things BIG! A build envelope that’s roughly the size of a loaf of bread, the MakerBot Replicator enables you to make an entire chess set with the press of a button.
2. Dualstrusion™ (2-color printing)
The MakerBot Replicator, with the new Dualstrusion™ (2-color printing) extruders, giving you the power to print things in two colors! The extruder is the part of the machine that turns raw material, like ABS (what Lego® is made of) or PLA (a biodegradable material made from corn), into the objects you desire. By having dual extruders, you’ll print with two different colors at the same time. You can make things out of multi-material and enjoy the fun of beautiful combinations of colors. (All Replicators in Seeed pre-order are with Dual extruders)
3. Assembled in Brooklyn
The MakerBot Replicator, assembled in Brooklyn by skilled technicians, is ready within minutes to start printing right out of the box. For starters, that’s very good news, unlike past products from the company, the MakerBot Replicator ship assembled, taking the difficulty and time consuming construction process out of the equation. We directly import the Replicators from the MakerBot industry, keeping the original taste in the box. What you get from here is exactly the same as that from the MakerBot industry.
Here’s a video of Bre Pettis, CEO and Co-founder of MakerBot Industries, first introduce this new machine to the public.
What do you think? Pre-order now to get a free ABS filament, the estimated ship date will be April 15, 2012.
