New Product Post

It’s Monday again, and we have some pretty cool things worth talking about this week. Some stuff you may already know about and the other we thought you may also interest in. Let’s check it out!

First, we’re more than happy to launch the HiJack Development Pack. You can now connect your iPhone 3G/3GS/4G, iPod Touch, and even iPad with the existing Twig components (currently, the power consumption of connected twig should less than 5mW and analog type). The HiJack platform enables a new sort of small and affordable phone-centric sensor peripherals that support plug-and-play operation. For more information, please track back to our previous post or HiJack wiki page.

We also have a new 2.8” TFT Touch Shield. It’s an Arduino-compatible multicolor TFT display with a 4-wire resistive touch screen. The screen driver is based on a ST7781R with 8 bit data and 4 bit control interface. The shield is fully assembled, tested and ready to go. Simply plug it in and play without any wiring or soldering!

Another new shield for Seeeduino/Arduino! Bluetooth Shield is a well-assembled Arduino/Seeeduino compatible module, based on Serial port Bluetooth module, designed for transparent wireless serial connection setup. Moreover, this shield has two Twig connectors (one is Digital and the other is IIC/Analog) for you easily installing Twigs.

We have a new Twig for this week. The Geiger Counter Twig is the base board for the J408γ Geiger–Müller Tube or other sort of GM tubes working at around 400 volts. You can make a simple Geiger Counter with this twig and a Geiger tube.

This little stuff may help improve your homemade PCBs. Solder mask is a lacquer-like layer of polymer that provides a permanent protective coating for the copper traces of a Printed Circuit Board (PCB) and prevents conductors from mistaken bridging by solder that may cause a short circuit. Another advantage you get with solder mask is that soldering becomes much easier, as solder doesn’t spread out to everywhere and gets confined to the pads. For more detail, check this link after the break.
