A report of Xinchejian: The first hackerspace in China, by CNN

A month ago, David Li, the foreman of Xinchejian has visited Seeed Studio, and shared many of his thoughts and ideas about hackerspace and open hardware industry with us. That’s a brilliant talk. It gave us a picture about how can open hardware company work with hackerspace.

Now, the infant of hackerspace should make a bigger noise by showing themselves on the CNN. What an amazing progress!!!

“It’s about connecting the real world with the virtual, demystifying technology by hacking it,” says David Li. Xinchejian may become a key factor that links Shanghai with the global network of hackers, following closely with their movement. People only pay 500 RMB (about $75) monthly to become members so that they can access to the space and work on their dream projects.

It’ a good start in China. However, the process may require more resources and supports involve in. Still have a long way to go.
