DSO Quad shipping delay notification
During the spring festival in Feb, all business in market were closed until people came back from hometown. We were hoping that we could ship DSO Quad before March but the sequela caused by spring festival is worse than we thought. Due to the 15 days break, many parts needed by DSO Quad were out of stock, and this is really frustrating.
Right now manufacturing for Quad is going smoothy, we are hoping to ship your DSO before next weekend. Sorry again for the delay, and thank you for your trusting !

I agree with Peter, been there, lesson learned. I always add 50% more time myself. AND provide updates when that date becomes in jeopardy.
A hard lesson I learned a couple of years ago was that for uncertain lead times always pick the most pessimistic lead time. I always had the tendency to pick the more optimistic lead time. It was what people wanted to hear and, if everything went as planned or only slightly wrong, doable. What I learned was that if I picked the pessimistic lead time the vast majority of people were OK with it, they didn’t like it but they understood. And if I beat that lead time which was usual, people were really pleased. When I picked the optimistic lead time and delivered late, people got nervous.
I’ve been in seeedstudio’s position before and can sympathize. I’m also glad to see that I will be getting my DSO Quad.
Well now. That wasn’t so hard. It’s not a date, but it is a time frame I can plan around. Thanks, Fan. Sorry for all of the whining I see going on. But, if this goes to May, watch out! John
Hi guys, as i promised, DSO Quad will arrive at Seeed Studio within this week, and package order from factory will arrival on monday. That means we will start shipping from next tuesday, i will post the latest processing status when Quad arrived. Sorry again for the delay, we are trying our best.
Time for me to chime in: I’m going on vacation soon and really could use a ship date. I see a few others also have valid concerns for a ship date. This isn’t impatience talking, I NEED to know a reasonable time from for shipping. Not “next week”, that ship has sailed!
Tax is the same as local VAT (20% in Czech Republic), tariff will be extra for everything above 150 Euros…
Sorry, I somewhat lost track of all this. If I search for “quad” I only find the “(Pre-order) DSO Quad beta test” in the shop – is this what will be shipped this week or the final product? Where and when can I order the final product?

Sounds a lot like a renamed “tariff”. Whatever happened to the “free-trade” treaty?
The original plan was to ship at the end of February/start of March. I was thinking it’s OK as long as I get it before the end of March so I expected some delay. But this further delay is very bad for me, it will effectively cost me 20% more from April.
Czech Republic is implementing EU regulations which means any shipment over 22 EUR (gifts over 45 EUR) in value will be taxed (20%) instead of the old limit 150 EUR, which was still OK for the preoder price.

We are so sorry for the delay. We underestimated the time cost needed by DSO Quad, really really sorry. The 1st batch DSO Quad will arrive at Seeed within this week, we promise.
If you don’t want wait any longer, you can ask us to cancel your order. But we do hope you can keep waiting and trusting us.

It is better to have one that work than one that may work.
To help us wait can you put the schematics on the garden for us to know what’s inside and start dreaming on what we will do later. The Quad is surely a good plateform to hack.

We’ve waited awhile, we can wait a little bit more. I’d rather have a tested and burned-in product than one that was rushed out!
As much as I am feeling impatient (and maybe even regret buying one instead of a real DSO that I would have had by now…) I will say that I would rather you take your time and do it right than rush and ship before its ready. Glad to hear that things are coming along smoothly and look forward to receiving it when you feel its ready to ship.
