New products: Personal mini hydropower station
What goes to your mind each time when you turn on the tap water? Do no waste it? That’s very true. But you can go a bit further. By using this tiny stuff in above picture, you can build a mini hydropower station in your kitchen! It is a micro hydro generator with voltage stabilizing circuit and build in re-chargeable battery, so it is able to output stably 3.6v 300mA power.

The other product is also very interesting and useful. It is a Water flow sensor consists of a plastic valve body, a water rotor, and a hall-effect sensor. When water flows through the rotor, rotor rolls. Its speed changes with different rate of flow. The hall-effect sensor outputs the corresponding pulse Signal.

I like the flow sensor!
I am personally leery of plastic components since they can fail themselves under water pressure, otherwise it’d be perfect for a shutoff/leak sensor for my bathroom and kitchen to make sure no one leaves the faucet running, the toilet isn’t stuck again, or the ice maker is broken.
And it seems it is metric sized, so it’d take some wrangling to get into an American plumbing system….
